Despite the name, which would suggest speed death metal, they are actually very melodic, and then came that song, like Perl Jam's Jeromy, it made me noxious, I wouldn't tell you which song it was, you'll know it, it was relentlessly on back then, KGB liked it, eheheeee

I got a flashback sometime ago, downloaded Anihilator discography and still liked it, somehow; can't really think of a particular song from that time, despite Allison Hell, which we watched a myriad times at your Raw Power VHS recordings
Annihilator are still on stage, although it seems there is something special about those Canadian bands (think Anvil, ..), they're not bad but seem to be living in a parallel world |

Highly underrated band. For me their most consistence album is Schizo Deluxe....all the songs on that album have great groves.
New live album “Live at Monsters of Rock” is great also. Helix [hard rock] is another great but underrated Canadian band. |

Had no idea they were Canadian or that they were still alive. Got Schizo Delux, really, really like it, need to mosh it.
On commercial success, who knows, perhaps management is the dominant factor, look at Green Day milking it, musical, rock band game. Personally I see no reason why Annihilator ( note I finally got the correct spelling ), should not be commercially successful, as with Schizo Delux, it clearly shows that they can evolve and adapt, am not that sure of Anvil's ability to evolve and mange themselves, we all have a soft spot for them though, don't remember much of the gig, perhaps O does. Got Helix last night, had never heard of them, think Rock You and Animal House have heard before, initial impressions Motley Crew, Van Halen, for some strange reason vocals reminded me of Gene S. A bit too soft for my current state of taste. Annihilator need to be Moshed, any one seen them live? |
